FITUR – An event not to be missed

Getholiday at FITUR, here’s our experience. With all the effort that distinguishes us, we have participated in FITUR 2017 in Madrid. Don’t you know what it is? Read on and we will try to explain our experience. Why go to FITUR? FITUR is the International Tourism Fair that was held at the Madrid Trade Fair Centre from the 18 to 22 January 2017. It represents the most important showcase in the world of tourism, an occasion in which business professionals present their strategies and have the opportunity to negotiate agreements and make business contacts. If you are part of this world it is an event not to be missed and that is why even Getholiday decided to participate. Here is our experience at FITUR 2017 Here we go … trying not to think too much about the airline we chose for the trip, after a short but “intense” flight we landed in Madrid, intense, because even if we know the pros and cons of many airlines … sometimes it is a good idea to go try the service again to see if there have been changes, which amongst many other things have not taken place … and this allows us to better advise our customers. The next day, full of energy and thanks to the transport service provided by the hotel, we headed to the International Tourism Fair. Immediately we realised the importance of the event, the large number of visitors slows us down a bit, but after completing the usual formalities we are in. Our first objective was to go to the Canary Islands Stand, where we met our colleagues. In spite of being a huge exhibition centre inside the venue moving around is fast thanks in great part to the conveyer belt.

Upon our arrival we were received by the president of the Association of Tourist Guides of Tenerife (APIT Tenerife) and from that moment we start to work.

A constant coming and going of Tour Operators, Tourism Agencies and all those who asked for information have allowed us to illustrate the infinity of things to do in Tenerife including the Getholiday proposals.

Last but not least, FITUR Know How & Export aims to increase the international visibility of Spanish tourism companies.

New in 2017 is the large space dedicated to Latin America to boost trade relations between the two continents and increase the importance of the Iberian Peninsula as a gateway to Europe. Needless to say it is a very successful event, we were immersed for four days in an event that brings together all the news and everything you need to know about the world of tourism and that has allowed us to have a wonderful experience. We will surely return next year!

Of course we could not miss the opportunity to take a quick tour of the capital: Madrid, a wonderful city that surprised us with its many monuments and turned out to be very interesting from a historical point of view. A capital full of life that has excellent quality including food and wine. If by telling our experience in FITUR 2017 we have not been able to transmit the magnitude and importance of this event here we leave you some information that can help you better understand it:
