This fantastic day trip will allow you to discover the wild beauty of one of the most beautiful Canary Islands. The excursion starts from the port of Los Cristianos which is located south-west of Tenerife, aboard the Naviera Armas ferry, towards San Sebastian de La Gomera, the capital of the island. Once we get off the ship, we will head towards EL MIRADOR DE LA DEGOLLADA DE PERAZA, where we will observe the curious phenomenon of “horizontal rain” and the effect it causes on the vegetation.
We will continue towards the center of the island and then stop in one of the most emblematic places in La Gomera. “El ROQUE DE AGANDO”, where we can admire the impressive testimonies of the ancient Super Volcanoes that created the island.
Entering the Garajonay National Park, we will head towards the unpreparation center of the homonymous “JUEGO DE BOLAS” park, crossing the Allori forest that has the power to make us go back to the age of the dinosaurs, in a real Jurassic park!
At lunchtime, we will head to the beautiful town of AGULO, which in 2021 became part of the selection of the most beautiful villages in Spain. In the restaurant you will taste the real and exclusive dishes of La Gomera, such as el Almogrote, Goat’s cheese with Canarian palm syrup, watercress soup, “Gomerón” liqueur. All dishes that deserve to be tried of the typical island cuisine.
After lunch at the restaurant, on the way back we will visit, without stopping, the characteristic village of HERMIGUA, where the remains of the famous fisherman are kept in its bay, where the ships embarked one of the most important products of local agriculture, “the plane tree de Canarias ”to transport them to European markets.
In about thirty minutes we will arrive in SAN SEBASTIAN DE LA GOMERA where with a little free time you can discover the remains of historic buildings connected to the passage of Christopher Columbus before his departure for the American continent, such as the TORRE DEL CONDE or La CASA DE COLÓN .
