Tenerife – an island to discover!
Thanks to their tourism experience and knowledge of the island, our expert team promise to take you on an unforgettable excursion!
The places we will visit on the trip are:
Our first stop is the picturesque village of VILAFLOR DE CHASNA, the highest municipality in Spain at 1450 metres altitude.
Here we will stop to observe the Pino Gordo (Fat Pine), with a circumference of up to 9.36 metres, considered one of the biggest trees in Spain and the biggest in the world of its species.
We will then enter the CORONA NATURAL PARK, where we will observe the magnificent flora, made up of Pinus Canariensis or Canarian Pine, which is native to the islands.
After this we will observe how the landscape transforms as we enter the magnificent NATIONAL PARK OF EL TEIDE, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007.
This is the most visited national park in Europe with around 4 million tourists coming each year to discover its otherworldly lunar landscape.
The average altitude is over 2000 metres and the peak of the El Teide Volcano is 3718m, making it the third highest volcano in the world.
Whilst here we will make two stops at the imposing ROQUES DE GARCÍA and MINAS DE SAN JOSÉ.
We will travel down through the beautiful valley stopping to take in the gorgeous views of the lush north of the island from various look-out points.
We will continue towards the historical town of LA OROTAVA where we will stop for lunch at a Guachinche, a typical Canarian restaurant unknown to most tourists, to sample the local cuisine and visit the picturesque old town.
Next stop is ICOD DE LOS VINOS, where we will admire the famous “DRAGO MILENARIO”, an astounding thousand year old tree declared a Natural Monument on the island and a proud symbol of Tenerife’s flora.
We will then continue towards GARACHICO, a quaint costal town founded by Italian banker Da Ponte in 1496, which became, thanks to its port, the main point of exchange between America and Europe.
We will continue the excursion to the RURAL PARK OF TENO, one of the oldest parts of the island, where deep ravines cut through the dramatic landscape and the rural traditions of local islanders are conserved in time.
We will make the last stop in Masca, a town of approximately 90 inhabitants nestled in the deepest Canyon in the Archipelago, with giant cliffs of up to 500 metres and breath-taking views.
