Teno Rural Park: discover Tenerife's ancient volcanic north-west

Teno Rural Park occupies the north-western corner of Tenerife. In a relatively small area you will find soaring cliffs, steep ravines, agricultural valleys and villages where island traditions are still visible.

The Teno massif is among Tenerife's oldest geological regions. Erosion has shaped its volcanic rocks over vast spans of time, creating dramatic cliffs and deep gorges such as Masca.

Sunny slopes and humid hillsides support different habitats, making the park especially valuable for its varied wildlife and endemic species.

Take time to appreciate traditional terraces, local produce and the quiet rhythm of village life. Respect farmland, established trails and the people who call this protected landscape home.

Some roads and protected areas have access restrictions. Check current official information before leaving, and consider a local guide when planning an unfamiliar route.
